Meet Four Canadian Artists We've Partnered With for Stunning Fine Art Prints!

Kate Maura

"My process combines analogue and digital exploration which offers an expanded play of layering, opacity and bright colors. The light within the digital is so expansive and magical, reminds me of when I see light in nature sparkling across water, so many colors present its mind blowing." - Kate Maura's website

We are always delighted to work with Kate as her bright and warm personality reflects the love and passion she carries within her processes. Described as "synthesis art", her work is immersed in a a lyrical abstraction that begins with observational drawings with nature and experimentation like the crevices of tree bark that form and ebb.

We highly recommend visiting her instagram to read her detailed descriptions of her processes.

Leanne Haye

"I am a proud Canadian and photographic artist living in Toronto. My love of photography grew as I travelled the world and my passion ignited when I moved to Humber Bay Shores. The Toronto sunrises captivated me." - Leanne Haye's website.

We are so excited to see @hay_picturethis present this collection. Leanne's work invokes such striking colors and the sunrise photos showcase this familiar place but the shot is so intense it almost feels unreal. We especially love the choice of the metallic paper she chose here as it only emphasizes the mirror like reflection of the sunset colors!

Leanne is featuring these beautiful pieces at Twist Gallery (1100 Queen Street West) for their “CAPTURE” exhibit open now till January 27th! Please go and check it out in person to see other Toronto artists feature their work.

Anda Kubis

"Anda Kubis’ abstract paintings provoke perception. Using subtle layers of oil paint to build visually complex surfaces, colourful forms blur, morph, and bloom into more distinct orbs through her slow and intuitive painting process. Anda’s compelling use of colour and form in painting demonstrate a continued commitment to aesthetic experience, good design, and a rich creative life." - Anda Kubis' website

It was such a treat to see so much beautiful color variations surrounding our space. We love working with Anda and seeing her artwork come to life. It's delightful to see such colorful prints come to life.

Jay Schmidt

"Through my exposure to different environments in every state between pristine to obliterated, the driving factor beyond my existence solidified. "

We had the opportunity to produce these prints for @lady_heron_, artist and environmental scientist who grew up in the prairies in Canada. Dramatic tones of dark swaying colors, Jay's use of thick ink lines and watercolor create captivating illustrations that not only reflect their love of the environment, birds, and plants but have been a strong outlet of freedom for expression.

To get to know the artist more, please take the time to read the passage below provided by @lady_heron_ that reflects the wonderful motifs and themes that are embodied in Schmidt's work.

"My artwork is largely a reflection of my love for the environment, birds, and plants. I have been illustrating throughout my life but have only started to take painting seriously over the past five years.
Although the focal point of my artwork has not always been environmentally focused, I have always looked to birds as a source of freedom for my mind. My obsession with them grew as I began to work as an Environmental Scientist across B.C, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

The often repetitive and layered process of painting with watercolors contrasted with the harshness of ink is something I have grown to love working with over the years. I enjoy using these mediums to produce illustrations, usually of birds, with dramatic, sometimes almost distorted poses, with an overall dark tone."
